Henderson Update!!!!

Well, the last 6 months for the Henderson's have been QUITE eventful. This is in part why our blog hasn't been updated recently. We have had about a million and one things going on, and I have had a hard time finding some time to just sit down and update our blog.

As far as some of those events that have transpired, I have finally recovered from my little jaunt to the hospital, we have celebrated two birthdays, went to a few family reunions, been on some vacations, bought our dental office and are in the process of a total remodel...new floors, all the walls and ceiling re-textured and painted and all new decor. It has made such a difference!! It has been so much fun, but also A LOT of work.

We are also trying to build a home. We are just in the approval stage of getting a loan... so we will see what actually happens over the next several months. We are excited and life has been really good to us. Everyone is healthy and well and just plugging away at life. Kaia has started Kindergarten and Taylor is in her 2nd year of preschool. They are taking music lessons and have started a dance class too. They are both on a soccer team with Brandon and I being the coaches! They are having a lot of fun so far and we have even won our first 2 games, not that we are really keeping score, it's just for the little ones to have fun.

Not too much more to tell... I will post photos, since that is what most people like to look at anyway! Soooo, for those that have chided me to update our blog... Here you go!!!

Appendicitis Gone Wild!!

For those of you who have heard through the grapevine and those of you that haven't...here is our latest news. On Thursday April 10th, I started having some pain in my lower right abdomen. I didn't want to rush to the ER, so I waited until Friday morning to see how I felt. When I woke up and the pain was still constant, I figured there was something really wrong. So, I went about our normal routine, got everyone ready, had naps, lunch, stopped at the park to visit a friend in town and then headed out to the ER. By the time I got there it was about 4:30 pm. After some blood tests and an ultra sound, the doctors determined it was appendicitis. When I finally got into surgery, it was about 9:30 pm. It was to be a fairly short surgery, so when I woke at about 1 am and was in some immense pain, I knew that things hadn't gone as planned. The nurse was trying to comfort me and tell me that they had to open me all the way up because they had found a mass inside. The next morning I learned that they had removed about a foot of my colon, the mass, my appendix and 4 inches of my small intestine. I was told they were treating it as cancer, but thought maybe it was crohn’s disease because of the way the colon looked. Five days later we got the pathology report back and found out that it was not cancer or crohn’s, but a severe case of appendicitis. The doctor said it must of been "smoldering" for some time and the mass they found was just infection from the appendix. What happened to me was pretty rare, most people have appendicitis come on within 24-48 hours. I don't know why I was elected the lucky one to have such a rare case. Why couldn't it be the lottery or something? So, because of appendicitis that had gone wild, I now get to sport a 12-inch scar down my abdomen. I also get to say that I have had a bowel resection at the young age of 32. With pre-eclampsia last year, a bowel resection this year, I wonder what next year has in store for me?

Just Fooling Around

Brandon took the girls behind our house to play, climb and jump on the rocks. They had a ball and loved posing for the camera. Look how beautiful the view is from where we live. What a gorgeous March day!

Now and Then

I was going through photos in our computer and came across some pictures of Evan when he was born. I have already forgotten how tiny he was. It still amazes me how those little preemies can survive. They are truly little miracles! Evan is growing so much and is such a blessing in our lives. He sure has come a long way. ********************************************************************

A Lifetime of Romance

Brandon took me to "The Prom"


The ward had a mock prom that was pretty elaborate. They cleared out the Ford Dealership and had it decorated just like prom was back in the days... We even got our "prom photo" taken in front of a 1963 ford falcon. It was a lot of fun to see all the young couples dancing to the oldies, but even more fun to see the older couples dancing to modern music. We had a great time and it was a hoot to dress up.

Out With The Girls

Whenever I head up to my parents, I try to get together with my girlfriends. It's always fun because we always seem to pick up where we left off, no matter how much time has gone by.

All I Want For Christmas Is...

A Dora Mermaid...what is that? Santa had to search far and wide in his toy warehouse, because he finally found the last one on the shelf for Taylor. It must have been a much requested item for the kiddies this year.



A Littlest Pet Shop, Streak and Style, Mousetrap... Santa's list went on and on for Kaia.





We wanted the girls to get gifts for each other this year, so I took Taylor out and Brandon took Kaia out. In the end, they both had picked out the same gift, but in different colors. For as different as the girls are, they are very similar. We thought it was so funny that they picked out the same thing from all the toys they could choose from.

It's Christmas Eve, Are We Excited???

Holy Crow, There is Snow!

The girls had a ball playing in the snow up north. It was the first thing they wanted to do when we went to Grandma's. It was nice to be in the snow for a couple days, but even nicer to come back to sunshine and dry roads.

Just Elfing Around

Office Max had the funniest thing at Christmas time. You could insert your face on an elf's body and then the elf with your face did a little jig. I was about wetting my pants when Brandon's brother and sister's sent us their elf dance. So we took some photos and then elfed ourselves. I sent out the link to most everyone I had in our address book. I hope those of you that got the link took advantage of watching it. It was hilarious.

Memoirs Of The Christmas Season

Brandon and I were able to go see the lights at temple square and watch the Christmas Concert that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir puts on. It was a wonderful evening with no kiddies (and much needed!)



These were taken at our ward Christmas dinner. This was Evan's first time in Santa's lap. He was so excited to be there. I am sure he told Santa that he wanted diapers and milk for Christmas. Kaia grudgingly sat on his lap. She looked like a stiff board sitting there, but she managed to tell the man in red that she wanted the game mousetrap. Taylor wouldn't have any of it, no way, no how.

The girls were involved in a Christmas program at their preschool. Doesn't it look like they're thrilled to be there?

We were able to spend Thanksgiving in Vernal at Grandma and Grandpa's.

Evan's Blessing Day

Evan was finally blessed this last Sunday November 11th. Because of some health issues with my (Tracy's) mom, we held the blessing in Payson to make it easier for her. It was a really beautiful blessing and most all of our immediate families were able to make it.
